Fencing PTA & Haleakala

A technically challenging National Park Service Project, Heartwood Pacific installed 7,920 feet of feral animal control fencing at Haleakala National Park on Maui. The remote location of this project required the workers to be flown in with a helicopter and a base camp was established for the workers to live at during the construction. Due to the altitude, weather was often a factor for this project creating challenging situations for the helicopter. On a couple of instances the helicopter was grounded and the workers had to walk out of base camp. A highlight of this project was the quick completion and the final inspection included no punchlist item corrections.

Another Heartwood fencing project was for the US Army at the Pohakaloa Training Area. For this project Heartwood installed 8,000 feet of security fencing. With several projects going on at the same time Heartwood successfully coordinated with all parties to install the fencing. A Pu’u (cinder cone) is located on the property and workers had to navigate up and down to install the fencing. On-site security clearances were required for this project. Heartwood completed the project management, cleaning, drilling and fencing installation for this project.
