AASF#2 National Guard Hangers, Hilo Int’l Airport
For the State of Hawaii National Defense, Heartwood Pacific re-roofed the hanger buildings at Hilo International Airport. The project consisted of installing a custom lock standing seam, stitched at the ribs, hurricane resistance 14,686 square feet of roofing material. Weather and safety were a factor on this project. The hanger was 35’ and full fall protection gear was utilized by all workers. Heartwood completed this job safely and there were no on the job injuries. This was Heartwood’s first installation of a roll over seam roof. The project received a Certificate of Appreciation, for superior performance, high quality workmanship, timely completion, and excellent cooperation displayed by Heartwood’s Personnel. Heartwood was the prime contractor and completed 90% of the project in-house a gutter subconsultant was utilized for the remaining 10% of the project.
